BIOGRAPHY
Philippe Duchêne is an animation director, writer and IP creator based in Paris. With over 34 years of experience in the animation industry, he has worked as a character designer, storyboard artist, art director, writer and director on more than 30 animated series and feature films.
He created, co-wrote and directed his first animated feature film, ZAK & WOWO: THE LEGEND OF LENDARYS, released theatrically in France in 2024 and sold internationally in 40 countries. He was also the original creator and character supervisor of LEAP!, which grossed over $100M worldwide.
His recent credits include SAMURAI RABBIT: THE USAGI CHRONICLES for Gaumont Animation / Netflix as Character Designer and IDEFIX & THE INDOMITABLES as Writer.
He is currently developing the short film TOM’S WALK, and the animated feature THE SAMURAI’S WILLOW, currently in writing.
