Philippe Duchêne is a Paris-based director of animated feature films and series, screenwriter and IP creator. With over 34 years of experience in the animation industry, he has contributed to more than 30 animated feature films and series as a director, screenwriter, storyboard artist, art director, design supervisor and character designer.

He created, co-wrote and directed his first animated feature film, ZAK & WOWO: THE LEGEND OF LENDARYS, released theatrically in France in 2024 and sold internationally in 40 countries. He was also the original creator and character supervisor of LEAP!, which grossed over $100M worldwide.

His recent credits include SAMURAI RABBIT: THE USAGI CHRONICLES for Gaumont Animation / Netflix as character designer and IDEFIX & THE INDOMITABLES as screenwriter.

He is currently developing the short film TOM’S WALK, and the animated feature THE SAMURAI’S WILLOW, currently in writing.
